Let's change the tone...

First of all, yes this game has some bugs, as does every game. But I'm tired of people b****ing and complaining.
First of all, this game is great. It has taken great strides. The offense is HARDER! THANK GOD.
We've been asking for a tougher game, and they DELIVERED.
We've been asking for dreads, and they DELIVERED.
We've been asking for better LOOKING gameplay, and the DELIVERED!

This game has some flaws, yes, but in my book, this game is far from a "waste of money"
It is great, a 9/10, the best NCAA thus far.

Good work EA.

Re: Let's change the tone...

I posted something regarding this in another thread but I'll toss my 2 cents in here as well...

I bought the game and am enjoying it. Yes it has a lot of bugs, some quite serious, but I tend to take the view that the first month of release of this thing is like an open beta. As long as it's patched and working better within 30 days I'll live with it.

No, I'm not an EA apologist, but let's face it. The dev cycle on this thing is under a year, and they added quite a few significant changes to it this year. My guess is they bit off a little more than they could chew and didn't have time to fully Q&A it.

But ask yourself if you'd rather there was a perfectly working game from day 1, but with no coaching carousel or custom conferences, or if you'd rather have it buggy for 30 days, then fixed after that but WITH those features. To be fair to the devs I think that was their choice too. I'll live with it being buggy for a bit to get some awesome new stuff like CC.

I know it's easy to say "they shouldn't release a buggy product and use us as their testers!", and certainly there is validity to that, but I think that applies more to games with a more open development cycle. These guys have to choose a feature set and get it done in a certain timeframe. Some of that is guesswork. And they can't delay it, football season waits for noone.

Honestly I don't really use the coaching carousel or custom conferences so I wouldn't mind those features being taken out for a less buggy game. But the thing is I haven't seen too many bugs in this game. I really like it aside from the Road to Glory mode being too easy but thats another topic.

The bugs I have found are mostly small ones. And those people complaining about the jerseys not getting dirty, and stadiums being too quiet show me just how spoiled we have become as gamers. I remember in the 2007 version there was no teambuilder, no dirty jerseys, no coaching carousel, no custom conferences, and many other features that so many people are currently railing on. I say be happy you have this game and not a game like the ones on the old PS2.

It can be fun to complain about silly CPU shenanigans, but I will still play this game til my thumbs hurt. NCAA football is like Schwarzenegger movies, no matter how bad it is, it's still pretty sweet.

Re: Let's change the tone...

I would love to agree, and a week ago i might have. I play The Show over this game every night after i get out of work now. Can't even enjoy NCAA, and i'm not sure why because i was one of the people who weren't bothered by the bugs.

After almost 10 years of this being the only game i truly care about other than FIFA, i think i'm finally done with NCAA.

Until next July.

Re: Let's change the tone...

I can enjoy the game for a max of 3 games in a day. I think I may have burned myself by playing NCAA 11 year around, because I just can't fall in love with this game like I did last year. Too many bugs.

@ OP: You don't think 9/10 is a bit too high?

Re: Let's change the tone...

Why should the tone change when so many things in the game are broken/glitchy/unusable?

As usual EA put in things but did it half way.

Dreads? Yep, they are in....but grow out of the players back and there is only one kind....the kind that barely any players actually wear..

3D grass? Yep....but only in replays.

Custom conferences? Yep. But there is no dynamic conference prestige and you can't edit all the bowl tie in's.....which kind of kills it all.

Tougher? Sure. Pyshic DB's and Superman LB's and sliders that don't work on Heisman to correct it. Plus the psychic CPU defensive play calling on Heisman.

Coaching Carousel? Yep. But tons of bugs and issues.

"Revamped recruiting"...Yep...but progression is still broke.

We will "change our tone" when EA actually puts out a good product and quits half assing features.
