The Computer Offense (Coach Mode)

Man... So I'm OC at Oregon State. My offense is pretty solid (Putting up 37 PPG) But we have still lost several games because my computer defense allows the other team to put up 40+.

Really frustrating.

Just venting

Re: The Computer Offense (Coach Mode)

Created a dynasty with an avg, unranked UCLA team and in my 3rd game had to face #18 Stanford (A- offense). Went into it thinking ball control, ball control, ball control. Playing 8 min. qtrs I put together several drives of 4 and 5 minutes taking the guesswork out of what my defense needed to handle.
Maybe that approach might help?

Had run a 6* Auburn dynasty (AA w/ sliders) for 30+ seasons in '11 and at some point became able to usually not worry about scoring too fast, so the UCLA situation was different for me, but it worked for that Stanford game and the rest of the way.

Re: The Computer Offense (Coach Mode)

Just played an A rated USC offense (#16 after inexplicable loss to unranked Ore St AT USC?! and a 2nd loss to #6 STAN) yesterday and 'held' them to 28 in a 31-28 win.
Both CPU-USC and I played long, ball-control drives. Both had a long drive halted by turnover (fumb me, INT them), and saw 1 punt, USC, in whole game.

Kinda liking this "if I've got the ball, you can't score" game plan. Hope it can work for you, too.

Re: The Computer Offense (Coach Mode)

I'll try it out my problems are:

1) I am a very very pass heavy OC due to my personnel

2) I have yardage goals I have to hit each season and don't want to miss em

Re: The Computer Offense (Coach Mode)

Ahh. That makes a ball-control game difficult to utilize. I guess the only thing I can think of is to dink-and-dunk way down field. Passing game gets its yards, and clock stays in your hands. Little room for error, though.
Good luck.

Re: The Computer Offense (Coach Mode)

I just want to know what slider set you guys are using. I'm using secelites and barely get beat using UVA. The team is a B- and some how I'm beating every team. I don't call option plays and have even beefed up the CPUs sliders.

Re: The Computer Offense (Coach Mode)

I play on vanilla all-american

I know there are great slider sets out there but somehow altering the game feels like cheating to me
