zone read and option updates?

They only fixed the pitch??? It would be really cool to effectively use one of the most widely used running offenses in college football. I wish they would have done more than just work on passing, and worked on the option game.

In the webcast they said that they also sped up the Zone Read mesh and QB's acceleration out of it.

They didn't address some of the actual glitches with the option runs though (CBs not respecting PA, frozen/floating CBs, optioning the DE rather that the EMOL). So we'll have to see if anything they actually did proves effective.

It'd be nice to hear from community guys about this.

Hopefully the animations really are sped up. Even with a fast QB it would take days to get the QB moving. It really took away from the effectiveness of the zone read. I would love to be able to run this online effectively.

I was under the assumption that both were "fixed." Zone read has been virtually non existent for me because of the lack of success it has.

There's a lot that would go into being "fixed". The only things they mentioned in the webcast were sped up QB-RB mesh, QB acceleration, new option pitches, and improved pitch relationship.

That short list leaves off quite a few bugs and glitches that've hurt the option game the past few years - and even then that's ignoring structural problems like O-line/D-line interactions, momentum, and physics.
