When I play I get Studio Updates but no bottomline ticker. Ive tried to adjust picture but still no ticker.

Are you playing on an HD TV? If not...then no you won't have it.

What cables are you connecting your xbox with? if it's the svga out of the box it's still not HD. You need to be connecting with an HDMI cable, and have it set to 16:9 aspect ratio.
