Dynasty: Ohio St or Michigan?

I'm starting one now, and I've narrowed it down to these two. I want to do a traditional one, so I was going to poll you guys. I thought about ND also. I've never cracked the top 5 in recruiting, and I want to. Texas was a choice, but I need an athletic QB and with none in sight, a scrambler may not come in year one...

Michigan. You get Denard year one, and you can find his replacement in recruiting. Michigan is also much less talented then Ohio State and Notre Dame for the first couple years.

Notre Dame is a good choice if you want your scrambler for the first 4 years already in place, and they have a top defense to let him grow year 1, plus your trio of Wood, Riddick, and Atkinson.

Ohio State has Miller, another good choice to already have your QB set, plus you're in Ohio with Michigan and Pennsylvania next door, you have a big recruiting pool.

Thanks, Shibito. Makes sense. I just want to recruit and have fun. Keep building and be great.... I want to mimic Florida when Meyer was there. Recruit speed and be number one on everyone's wish list

Ohio State then. The WRs are slow and unathletic except C. Brown. You can bring in whoever you want and probably start them year 2.

RBs are slow too. Your speed guy is a Senior. If you want full control then go Ohio State. Young talent always started under Meyer.

This depends on your roster used though. IIIIIwiseIIIII is a good one on 360.

Yep... Brown is good. I'm using ArtD1 I think or Tar Heels.... All with those edits we've been going back and forth on... Makes the game a ton better

Ohio State and Michigan have been my two most used teams in testing roster edits. In countless CPU-CPU games watched between the two teams I would rate them as even. Recruiting wise both teams have access to pretty much the same states and talent pool. You can't go wrong with either team. The one advantage as said before is you have Braxton Miller of Ohio State for at least another year if you pick them.

Good stuff, indeed... Miller is a plus and another young buck that just got there

Re: Dynasty: Ohio St or Michigan?

As a Buckeye myself, the obvious biased answer is Ohio State.

From a Dynasty perspective, as Buckeyed said, there are a lot of holes with the Ohio State roster (especially on certain rosters I've seen, though on PS3) that could be solved with a good year of recruiting. Other than Braxton Miller and the defensive line, there's very little that you couldn't just completely overhaul and bring in your own recruits.

However, from a purely "more enjoyable Dynasty" question ... I might go with M*ch*g*n, as much as I hate to say it. UM loses Denard after Year One, so you have to find his replacement, and fast. While UM has access to Ohio, it's not going to be as easy for you to recruit there as it is for Ohio State -- and Ohio State is tough to recruit against, even under CPU control. Michigan (the state) doesn't have quite the talent pool Ohio does, so you can't just rely on in-state recruits (whereas Ohio State can be played really easily with nothing but in-state recruits). Plus you have Nebraska and Michigan State to compete for the Division Title ... not a cakewalk, if your sliders are competitive.
