NCAA 14 Game Information
Looking through the Raw Data file of the game, I've come across some information that may/may not be presented or known, but feel would be good for gamers to know to better understand what's in the game.
The information will be presented as it is in the file (not my personal assumptions)
**Notations from work through Xan's Editor
<_> = Are Specifically Mapped Buttons on Controller (numbers are noted so I didn't include)
I'll update as I come across other useful information.
NEW - Avoid Sack
- Press <_> away from the defender
NEW - Play Action Abort
- Press <_> to abort the fake
NEW - Option Controls
- Press <_> to pitch
- Press <_> to fake pitch
Onside Kick
- Aim high on the football and kick with medium power for best results

- Press <_> "before" tackle
Dive Over Pile
- Press <_> to dive over the goal line
NEW - Total Control Passing
- Hold <_> in any direction to lead a receiver
New - Set To Pass

- "Hold" the button until the ball is released
Lob Pass
- "Tap" the button of the receiver
Medium Touch Pass
- Hold the button a little, but let go "before" the pass is released

On PA Read plays
- hold <_> to give the ball to the running back
Option Routes
- will have up to 3 different possible routes the receiver can run "based on the coverage"
Stay in the Pocket
- It's safer to stay in the pocket and let your offensive line protect you
Jam the outside receivers
- press <_> then <_>
Get a specific defender to bite
- On a Pump Fake by holding <_> and then pressing the button of the receiver you want to fake to
Strafing
- Allows you to change directions more quickly
Primary Receiver
- His route will be displayed in orange on the play diagram
- Throwing to this receiver will bring you more success
Spotlight a Receiver
- The defense will adjust their coverage to focus more attention on the spotlighted receiver
**will cause AI to adjust against your Defensive scheme/play you called
**discipline rating will have an affect also
**meaning AI may leave other WR open (depending on Discipline Rating) in Man and Zone coverages (ie Blown Coverage)
Player's Ratings
- Are adjusted each game based on how well they are performing
- To see the current performance level of your players hold <_> and <_> in preplay
Shift your Safeties
- In Deep Zone Assignments, press <_> then <_>, <_>, <_>, or <_>
Key on the Pass
- By holding <_> and then pressing <_>
- Doing this will keep your defense "disciplined" against play action fakes
** there is a Discipline Rating (0-6) that's hidden, but can be edited through Xan's editor that affects this area
Elusiveness
- How well the ball carrier avoids the defense
BC Vision
- The ball carrier's ability to find the hole in the defense
