I know you didn't ask me but figured I could chime in here. I use a work ethic rating in my dynasty and it takes me about 60-90 mins to get through the whole team. It's hard to tell, really, because I also edit gear (and drop their injury and stamina ratings) on freshmen at the same time, so the whole process can take 2.5 hours or so.

But I have it all in a spreadsheet and just run down the roster and make all of my edits in game. My presumption is that if you did it in the editor it could be done faster, but I don't use the editor (yet; I'm always tempted).

If you've made recruits or anything you get a pretty good feel for what attributes to change and by how much to get to the desired OVR for the players in question.

I like it. If I was willing to invest the time and effort to produce an excel for it, etc... I’d do it. Now about the editor, you might be off on your presumption... honestly, speed wise, you’re better off in the game... and it allows more precise visual choice... I’ve used the editor a lot in the past. But at the end of the day, I always go back to playing the game in its organic state the way it was designed to be played. I’ve done 4-team, 8-team, 16- team, 32-team playoffs and edited bowl bids but always go back to the basics lol

Re: How is your dynasty going

This game can be really weird. I'm up 63-21, the teams have combined for 944 yards of offense (1206 total yards), I've given up 427 yards through the air. The weird part? It's halftime (9 min quarters).

Re: the editor, good to know!

Regarding the spreadsheet, it's incredibly easy to set up. Mine is just the following columns:

First Name
Last Name
Position
Class

Work Ethic -- Rolled for all players in the first offseason with a new team; each new recruit does not have a work ethic roll until the end of their freshman season so as I don't try to recruit a position just to cover up a bad work ethic roll. Numbers generated from this site.

Improvement Type - I have four different types of improvement: Physical, Awareness, Position Skills, Balanced. All self explanatory, though position skills is like I change a players catching skills if they are a WR.

Low
High

Those are the ranges for each player's roll depend on their work ethic. My work ethic ranges are as follows:

WE Low High
40-45 -5 4
46-50 -4 4
51-55 -4 5
56-60 -3 5
61-65 -3 6
66-70 -3 7
71-75 -2 7
76-80 -2 8
81-85 -1 9
86-90 0 10
91-95 1 11
96-99 2 12

Improvement -- The amount of random progression each player gets

Overall -- Player's overall heading into the off season

Game Improvement -- How much the game itself improved the player. Basically the average is +5 but sometimes it can range between +3 and +7, but the extremes are rare.

New Overall -- What I have to adjust the player to. Formula is just End of season Overall + Game improvement + random progression improvement.

I just run the rolls and get the data in seconds, really.

Final tally 126-35

OS sliders build 11.04

gave up 668 yards passing and won by 89

total combined yardage 2181 (including returns)

this is with the CPU receivers dropping 10 passes

and yep, it was a big12 game

Re: How is your dynasty going

Just won a natty with New Mexico State on NCAA 11 on AA with default sliders. I won every game by at least one score except against Cal in which they lost by 1 on a missed XP. Debating if I want to tweak the sliders a lot more or move up to Heisman for next season.

I’d just move it to Heisman honestly
