Higher chance of an offer from you Alma Mater?

In dynasty, I started as the OC of Maryland and am working my way up towards a good coaching job. Do you gain a higher chance of getting an offer from a school if its you alma mater? And how long would it take you to eventually gets certain job at a school (Texas A&M HC for me)?

And another question about getting a job offer, if I want to be a HC at a big program, what is the route should I go about doing that. I just accepted an offer as OC of Louisville and should I take a job as a HC at a lower school, go for OC at a major powerhouse, or just wait it out?

It really all depends on your prestige. The higher that is, the better chance you'll land a bigger job. I've seen run quickly through a few test dynasties and seen one where Kevin Sumlin got fired after year one, another where he got fired after year two, and in my current dynasty, A&M is a powerhouse

Is it easier to get a higher prestige if you're a head coach or a coordinator?

The prestige seems mostly based on wins and losses and achievement of your contract goals. I started with a created coach and, in a few years as oc, got to an A status

Definitely get more consideration from your Alma Mater.

So far in every dynasty I've done Holgerson gets fired from WVU and Doc Holliday is hired to replace him.

I have a brand new coach only level 4 after the first season and my Alma Mater is set to Ohio State. They are the only BCS School that even considered me for the OC position while I am the OC at ULL right now.

I just got hired as OC for A&m in my third year. Awesome offense as Johnny has stayed. I might never get to be HC for a&m now because if I do good then Sumlin won't retire or get fired. So I think I'll have to jump to another school as a HC but its fun to be OC for A&M

I'm curious to see how this dynasty goes since I had to start over since my player didn't meet the weight requirement to be drafted. Right now, LSU is 4-4 in my dynasty.
