I could see a situation where a sim-builder is made, something like what Sports Interactive does with Football Manager or Out of the Park Baseball.

If they just forced randomization of the rosters, all they would be using is NCAA licensed teams and logos. It would be pretty safe from litigation.

If EA had forced randomization of the rosters as well, they would have won their case.

What if EA just released a downloadable FREE version on NCAA 15? It's essentially a port of 14 with 2015 updated rosters. Hell, if its free they could in theory use names and have updated rosters as well as long as they aren't selling anything.

Maybe I'm off base on my thinking. But a 2015' ported NCAA with new rosters wouldn't be hard and it would be a good way to give back to a hardcore fan base that's been loyal for 20 years. Do this until the new NCAA settlement terms are settled.

So, who is going to work on these rosters and where are the going to get the money to pay them.

Highly unlikely. Similar to the ncaa basketball situation. Other development companies could have jumped on that when the license came available. If NBA Live doesn't do great, could we see EA pull the plug on that and focus mainly on Madden, NHL, and FIFA?
