I put my receivers with the best route running and catch in traffic ratings as slot receivers because they tend to get contact shortly after receiving the ball. On the outside I look for speed. They all need to have a good catch rating or I don't recruit them.

Good slot receivers seem to be harder to find, especially guys who have good run after catch ratings like break tackle and truck. I have found a few athletes who can do it all and make good slot receivers.
