Stopping the short/intermediate passing game

For the love of God can anyone give me some tips on stopping the short/intermediate passing game? Mainly the short passing game. I play man to man and press cover...the cpu still beats it!

I really feel like man to man coverage is broken on this game. I understand that certain patterns like the drag, curl, and comeback are man beating routes...but geesh. Those patterns can be covered better than that though lol. The cpu also always has a high completion percentage as well (again from the short passing game).

Try mixing up some zone coverages. Running man and pressing doesn't
stop routes designed to beat exactly that.

i do a lot of blitzing from cover 2 and use my FS to take away the wr on the left and shift my zones to the right side

Re: Stopping the short/intermediate passing game

Takes some work to be good at it, but I run Cover 1 Robber out of Nickel where one safety plays the deep zone and the other plays the shorter middle zone. I have been doing this for years and take the short zone to cover the short crossing routes. This won't stop the outs and flags, but if you are good at it you can really limit the crossing routes.

Otherwise, running some different zones and zone blitzes will help do the trick.

I like to use Buzz and sink zones. They protect against the 7-15 yard outs, hooks.... and give up the flats. The CPU will throw it short, you have to switch mans at MAKE THE TACKLE. Works great against the CPU
