Stopping the Option

I am certain this has been answered since the game was released but I can never stop the option. I always allow 10-12 yards on it. One thing that annoys me if a) the perfect pitches to the halfback (I have only induced one fumble in like 4,000 tries) and b) the halfback always breaks like 5 tackles on any given running play, the option included.

What defense should I throw at it? Just by looking at the formation and understanding the opponent's play patterns, I know exactly when they are going to run it but I have not found the defense to stop it - preferably with the Oklahoma Sooners and the Tezas Longhorns.

Make the qb think you're gonna tackle him, hit the triangle button(ps2) as soon as he pitches the ball and you will intercept the pitch. The pitch is to accurate but if you're anywhere between the QB and HB and you hit the triangle button it automatically takes you to the ball, my friend runs the option all the time and I to thought the pitch was to accurate, he would pitch the ball when he was up the field 10-15 yards and it would go right to his HB. Then one day I accidentally hit the triangle button and got the pitch. Now he has think about pitching the ball, I intercepted 4 in one game the other day.

I use the 4-4 Mad Robber. It works well for me at stopping the option. Also, pick up on your opponent's strategies. If they pitch too early, cheat over to the RB. If they don't pitch that often, nail the QB!!
