Yes, it's the Home of the Pennsylvania Quakers. It's also was the home of the Philadelphia Eagles from 1958-1970. During the 1950's the powerhouse Penn Quakers averaged about 70,000 fans per game and led the nation in attendence. Penn used to play a schedule with teams such as Notre Dame, Ohio State ,Southern Cal and Michigan It also hosted the greatest athletes and future Olympians.
Franklin Field also was the stadium that the 1960 champioship game between the Green Bay Packes and the Philadelphia Eagles. It's also the only the place where Vince Lombardi suffered his only Playoff loss.
The Commisioner of the NFL, Bert Bell, Died at the stadium during a football game between the Eagles and the Steelers. Bell also owned both teams at the time. Many Famous athletes have come and played in Franklin Field. Jim Brown, Bar Starr, Sony Jurgenson etc. Just to name a few.
The Building is contructed of more than 30 million bricks and holds the Penn Relays every year.
It was the place to be.
That's why I hope it gets an accurate model in this years game.
