Before leaving the play calling screen you should have to select the snap count(on 1 , on 2 etc..). Maybe that would create more false starts and throw the offensive timing off a little bit and make the game more realistic, it might also stop the 10 audibles at the line of scrimmage, especially if you forget the snap count you selected. what do you think?

That's not a bad idea. Awareness could come into play more of linemen then as well.
