it makes us feel good knowing that EA rated our players good and we can now play with them online and dominate.

Yeah, but you can't play till you have the game. So, what's the difference??? If your league drafts teams before the game comes out...you're in a crappy league!

The league I'm in is waiting until the game comes out, but I'm sure a lot of people are in leagues that have the draft coming up soon.

I would bet that you are wrong. The typical poster at OS is savy enough as to not join a league that would have their draft before the ratings come out.
