Team Rivals can be edited externally, yes. I have never experimented with it so I am unable to comment on external rival changes hold once loaded on the console. There was mention of it one of the editing threads.

With the dynasty editor you can make dynamic rivalries.

In my dynasty I was able to make Penn State a rival for Maryland. Not only did that rivalry now exist, I still had UVA, WVU, Navy, and Duke as my rivals.

This is useful for when you switch conferences and develop new rivalries.

For Example let's look at Maryland. Right now they have rivalries with UVA, Duke, Navy, and WVU. The single column only indicates the teams primary rival. In this case it would be Virginia. Let's say I wanted to develop a rivalry with Penn State. Well I would change the tab from Virginia to Penn State. When I do that I have now created a new rivalry within that particular dyansty. Because existing rivalries (duke, uva, navy, and wvu) are hard coded to the game, they do not change as rivals to UMD. You are allowed to create only one dynamic rivalry. If I wanted to make Rutgers my rival, I would do the same thing as before however Penn State wouldn't be my rival anymore.

Do you need to set both team's one dynamic rival to each other? Or could you potentially do more than one by, say, setting Alabama and Auburn to both have Texas A&M as a rival?

Also: is there a certain week you need to do this editing so that it effect the schedule and visits? Preseason, for example?

Alright, let me answer my own questions, for the next person to find this thread:

Changing Team A's rival to Team B means Team B gains Team A as a rival as well, you do not need to change Team B's rival to Team A as well.

This means if you want Team X to add rivalries with both Team Y and Team Z, you could change Team Y's rival to Team X, and change Team Z's rival to Team X as well.

I believe you can change this at any time, but I've changed it in the Custom Conferences Week so that teams schedule based on these new rivalries.
