Though I am a big fan of quantitative info, and am not a huge fan of this information approach. At a minimum, I would want to see the combined opponent win-loss for each team (available in the "schedules" menu), and the average ranking of each conference (available by clicking on conference prestige in the "my school" section of recruiting). I feel like this adds a lot more color to strength of schedule than just Top-25 record.
I noticed a lot of individuals placing Team E third and Team F fourth. Just wondering if you are giving E the bump over F more so due to the conference championship or the 5-0 Top 25 record.

I have to agree with Jello..

2) Team C: (power 5 champ, 11-1, 4 top 25 opponents)
3) Team E: (power 5 champ, 11-2, undefeated against top 25)
4) Team F: (11-1 w/ only loss to #1 team)"

For my playoff I did 8 teams.. I do not remmber the records.

East Regional (CFA): #8 Oklahoma (Conference champ no game) vs #3 Miami (ACC Champ)
Midwest Regional (Cotton): # 18 Notre Dame (Wildcard, Highest ranked not in the big 5) vs #1 Mississippi St. (SEC Champ)
South Regional (Capital): #19 Louisville (AAC Champ) vs #2 Auburn (Wildcard.. Highest ranked overall not a conference winner)
West Regional (Holiday): #7 UCLA (PAC 12 Champ) vs #5 Michigan St. (Big 10 Champ)

I can not take credit for that.. I got the idea from TheUofCWildcat.. That is how he had it set up in his tutorial video.. I thought it was a good idea so I tried it out.

I mean, both play into it, but the 5-0 record is a bigger factor for me. The two ways I conceptualize playoff teams are teams whose resume has earned them a shot at the playoff, and who have a legitimate chance to be the best team in the country.

In the absence of more advanced Strength Of Schedule (SOS) measures, or even the ability to look individually at each game, I see: Team F lost to the only top team they played. A is undefeated, so I give F credit it was a legitimate loss. But F only played one other top 25 team, and didn't get to even play in a championship game. They only beat one good team their entire schedule.

Team E has two losses, yes, one more than F. But team E played a much tougher schedule, beat 5 good teams, and beat team B who was better than anyone team F played. Even with that extra loss, team E's schedule earned a shot at contention more clearly than F, and E showed more compellingly that it might be really good.

I guess the simplest way to put it is: Team F made the playoff by avoiding losing too much. Team E deserves the higher spot because they've shown they can win.
