Normally when I pass say a slant route I would always push the right analog stick forward and throw a bullet. Well after playing around in practice for a while and dropping a ridiculous amount of passes I tried something a little different. When passing slants and short pass, press down on the right analog stick as you throw the bullet. This allows the pass to be thrown lowerer and for so reason it increases the amount of catches for me greatly. I was dropping everything until I just started holding down. Give it a try in practice mode and see if it helps.

The right stick?

I've noticed that most receivers won't catch bullet passes unless they are very good or are farther down the field.

i realized, this yrs passing mechanics are a b!itch...nobody is gonna master this game for months

and why does the cpu refuse to f'n run the ball

Try to run a slant against a defense you know will be open...as you are holding down the button to throw a bullet to that receiver hold down on the right analog stick...and a little to the left or right depending on how you want to lead them, and you will throw lower and more towards their body. I have been catching passes left and right now no problem. I do not manual catch either. This is more for the short passing than the longer routes. Be careful though... if the linebacker is waiting he will pick it since the pass is lower and also you are more susceptible to the Dline knocking the pass down.

Oh, and if you hold down before pressing the pass button you will throw off balance. Hold down AFTER your arm is in motion. I play on heisman and finally think I want have a good passing game.

i haven't tried this, but if the right analog stick had anything to do with passing, wouldn't it be listed in the controls?

Are you using sliders? They help immensely... hell, even without them, the game AI is more run oriented compared to last year.

And if you are using sliders... maybe your game is just broken?
