So far, I have produced 3 broadcasts plus an introduction to the team and Billy Ray. The broadcasts feature a commentator named Ike White, who is loosely based off of Verne Lundquist and Eli Gold, the voice of NASCAR and the Alabama Network. He will host most of the games, though not all of them. Another commentator is Ricky Sadler (Game 1), who is loosely based on Kenny Stabler (Eli Gold's former broadcast partner) but a little more ignorant and redneck. Another commentator is Jerry Richards (Game 2), who originally started out as a Gary Danielson, but ended up being a gayer Cable Guy, which ended up being funnier (imo) than a Gary Danielson rip off. The last commentator (at the moment) is Leon Stokes (Game 3), who is basically the "token black guy" that makes stabs at white people the whole time. As the series progresses, I anticipate that conflict will arise between the various commentators, namely between Jerry and the others because of Jerry's world view.
My goal with this series is to provide an entertaining glimpse into Billy Ray Lipscomb's pursuit of glory for his home town. The series will have a mix of some 30 for 30 or OTL type documentaries as well as regular broadcasts of the games with (hopefully) funny commentary performances. Any constructive feedback is welcome as I produce more of the series.
The intro is a little long and not quite as entertaining and I had hoped, but I wanted to introduce the team and give viewers an idea of how the games would be set up and what type of offense/defense would be called:
