Defensive Playbook Help

Hey guys,

So 1st off, I decided to take the 'Phins pre-draft and I thought I put together a pretty good defense. I signed Terrell Suggs and am playing him at DE. I also signed Asoghma(SP?) and Gebril Wilson. I am using the default playbook which is alot of 3-4 and blitzes.

The Problem: I just played my 1st preseason game and I gave up nearly 200 rushing yards. So, anyone got some could suggestions for creating some defensive plays to stop the run?

You did baldy because none of you players know the playbook more than likely. Not because the plays themselves are deficient. Players book knowledge is extremely important in this game.

1) The Dolphins are a lousy team, so don't expect to go 16-0 with them.

2) Terrell Suggs is a 3-4 OLB not a DE, so move him to OLB and sub him in at DE on 4 lineman plays.

3) Yeah, you have to master plays, so run plays that are learned or better, when you have a comfortable lead (unlike with the Dolphins) then start playing some unlearned plays, you'll do yourself a service by playing the unlearned ones, because your defense will learn the plays.
