Strange roster and goals issue

I finally decided to start my actual career with the Raiders. My question is this..... Are free agents randomly assigned to teams when you first start your career in the off season? Junior seau is on my raider team as a mlb and Ted Washington is listed as one of my DT's. They both obviously are not on the team in real life and I have already traded seau. But my issue with this is that in my goals, I am supposed to get both seau and Washington to learn a certain percent of the playbook. But now that I traded seau I got a huge approval drop because I can't complete that goal anymore. Isn't that a bit unfair to have one of our goals be centered around a player that shouldn't even be on my roster in the first place? Does this happen frequently or is it a one time glitch in my particular career?

Perhaps it is a roster issue with the game? Have you looked at the roster from the main menu to see if Seau is assigned to the Raiders?

As for the goal thing, yeah that sucks. I had a player get injured, so he is out for all of preseason, and there is no way I can complete the goal to get his playbook knowledge up. The goals really should be a little bit more intelligent about that.

When I check through the front end, seau is not on the raiders on the default roster out of the box. But when I downloaded the latest roster from 8.14.08 and then started my career, he is on my team. I haven't checked this roster through the front end though. I will check that.

You're gm signs fa's and unsigned rookies and invites them to camp. I had Dante Culpepper and Travis Henry in my chiefs camp.

Yep, GM auto-invites players each year. Nothing you can do about that.

Yeah, GMs bring people in. I misread your post, I thought you noticed them when you started in the pre-season, not off season.
