I have bought it and yes, it is worth getting. It first of all teaches you how to play the game (unlike the instruction manual included with the game). Plus it has fantastic sections on Free Agency, the Draft, as well as breakdowns for all the different types of Personalities (Guru, Promoter, etc).
Finally the 2nd half of the book has detailed charts for each of the teams, including a helpful section about what each team's top plays were after 100 games worth of simulation. Also has a good section about how often the CPU trades and what kind of trades they're usually after (who knows how accurate this is however).
