WR/TE Production

how do you guys get great WR/TE production? (playing the games)

because i can't get the production from my WRs/TEs in my west coast offense the way i want. (50 at production at best)

does it have to do with my WR coach's Performance skill being at 3?

or does it have to do with the playbook im using?

i need help. im trying to reincarnate Walsh's West Coast Offense with the Texans

Well, 3 Performance from your WR Coach isn't great, but you could compensate for that somewhat by increasing your Performance with your OC and HC. It takes some time for WRs to achieve production, usually 2-5 years if they 1st or 2nd on depth chart. The 3rd receiver usually never has a lot of production.

As for your playbook, the RB usually ends up catching a lot of passes in a West Coast offense. I do end up seeing the 2nd TE catch a lot of passes in my Spread offense; alot of times over the 1st TE. I hope all of this has helped you.

For me if you use 3 and 4 wr sets WR 3 puts up great numbers, the 3rd corner of safey must cover them they can have huge numbers.

Chargers PB and Steelers Smashmouth gave me a lot of TE production.

Moving players up in the qbs progressions will help them get more looks. Also, moving players around, putting different players in the slots and moving your weapons around the field can really help in getting mismatches allowing big plays from your top receiver if you get a safety or nickle corner guarding him.

Re: WR/TE Production

Looking through the stats, all the WRs with high (90+) production are OLD. The youngest one is Reggie Wayne at 28. Larry Fitzgerald, Marques Colston, and Brandon Marshall - all of whom are studly studly WRs - barely crack 80, if that, so tempering your PROD expectations seems wise.

In TEs, there's two guys over 80: Gonzales (97) and Gates (85). Everybody else is down in the 60s or below.

I'm guessing that PROD takes into account both annual averages and longevity, so even a hot young receiver won't rate as highly as a more veteran player with similar numbers per year.
