looking to buy a game... need some help/advice!

i am new to the PS3 world after crossing over from xbox 360. i am looking to build a decent library of games and haven't had the chance to check out a lot of games beyond the basic sports titles.

i am looking at either buying fallout 3 or batman AA. both games got solid reviews, but i am split on which game i want to get. in a perfect world, i'd just pick up both, but with a wife and a kid, i feel guilty even buying one game for myself.

can you guys give me any advice as to which game won't get stale after a couple weeks of playing? better replay value?

thanks for any help!! greatly appreciate!

Longevity and IMO the better of the 2:
Fallout

Also you should consider: (Non Sport Titles)
Little Big Planet
Valkyria Chronicles
Both Ratchet and Clank games

Fallout is such an Epic Game, I have to pimp it to anyone who has not Played it. I do not know one person who did not like it.

I love fallout and just got done with Batman. I would recommend Fallout. Batman is a one time through game while you could play through Fallout many times if you wanted.

Batman has a decided advantage in graphics and overall technical prowess.

Fallout has the decided advantage in just about every other category, though, including depth and replay value.

EDIT:

IMPORTANT: I would highly advise against buying the GOTY version of Fallout 3, however. While not everyone has had problems with it, I found it to be the single buggiest, laggiest, most prone to freezing game I've ever played. No I'm not exaggerating, nor am I an isolated case. Scope the PS3 section of the official Bethesda forums to see what I mean: http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php...tion-3-issues/

Stick to the regular version; much cheaper anyway.

Oblivion didnt play to well for my on the PS3, Choppy Frame rate really killed it for me.

I was wondering which version of Fallout had the freezing issue, thanks for the input. Considering picking this up as well.

Batman was awesome but over pretty quick...Fallout 3 will last you forever...I'd go with that
