The stories in this thread are great and are really swaying me towards buying the game.

I was gonna wait a bit before buying it seeing Civ V was pretty bare bones when it came, but everyone seems to be saying this one is fully featured.

I'm in the same boat, man. I held off on Civ V long enough that I was able to grab a complete edition once that came out. Was planning to do the same with this one but it's jsut all sounding so awesome right now...

You probably won't regret buying this game now. Not only is it a full game(though I do admit I want some DLC, but the game is a full game without any), the most recent patch, even without installing the latest video drivers, fixes a lot of issues, and lends a HUGE performance increase. Twas a great patch.

I'm going to keep my eye on this one for a while. I bought CiV a few years back and loved it. It was my first venture into the franchise and while I didn't really know exactly what I was doing found it to be a blast. Hopefully I'll catch this one on sale at some point down the road or wait until the price drops after a couple years and pick it up.

Firaxis dropped an update to the game today which includes, among other normal game changes, a new battle-royale-ish multiplayer scenario. I'm not kidding.

Being a base game scenario, you don't have to own Gathering Storm. It's free to anyone who at least owns the vanilla game.

I'm watching a livestream right now where the devs are playing. It's pretty wild.
