The independently developed sports game category is a category that has traditionally been held down by Out of the Park Baseball for several years running. While there were some solid and strong challengers to OOTP 12 this season, that trend has not changed in 2011.

Markus Heinsohn and crew have taken Out of the Park Baseball 12 to the next level, and in response we were impressed here at OS -- the game received our first 9.5 rating in over 4 years.

Still the best text-based game I've ever played. I have my own custom baseball universe now in its 40th season (started in OOTP 11), and let me tell you....there's nothing quite like seeing highly-touted high schoolers become legendary pro players. Immersion levels are off the charts in OOTP and I hope to see it continue in 13.

Love this game. Been playing since ootp 9. They always manage to add significant features without breaking the great gameplay.
