Does anyone know if the Konami license includes the right to come out with a PS5 version of the game or is it limited to the mobile app?

If Konami did come out with a PS5 version, I would expect it to be an MLB version of the Japanese game.

As far as I know Sony still doesn't have an exclusive deal with MLB. I would think if Konami would be willing to pay, MLB and the MLBPA would be more than willing to take their money.

Yeah, they don't. Konami, EA, 2K, any of them can sign an agreement with the MLB and PA.

Konami must be paying something already for it's MLB app. Yet it sounds like MLB intends to support it with advertising as a way to promote the sport of baseball.

It’s also because young people today play mobile games so their interaction with baseball would be through something like their mobile rendition of it. Might as well take advantage of it to get young people into the game by using their favorite platform for gaming.
