Re: ASB 2005 Franchise Roster

Dumb question---I just picked this game back up for the 360. Can I use this roster file with it?

Yes it is. I picked it up today for 7 bucks. Just pop it in while connected to Live (I am a silver member now) and it will download an update for the game. I played a few innings before and it played smoothly.

You need to connect your 360 to the internet (cable or DSL). You will be prompted from there if I recall correctly. Silver is free--you can't play online games, but you can access the content.

I haven't been able to get the roster yet b/c I am still trying to find my xbox tansfer kit--I know I kept it, I just can't find it.

As soon as I find it, I will try to get the rosters. I did do an expansion draft for the heck of it tonight. Played one spring training game. It was fun. I always liked this game...It has its flaws, but does alot of little things well. I remember the days when I owned 3 or 4 baseball games in a season.

I tell you, with the changes made (MKnight and mine) the game plays a fine game of ball. I'm going to keep this franchise updated throughout the year (even though it's the Nationals).

Is there a special cable I have to buy to hook this thing up to my computer?

Re: ASB 2005 Franchise Roster

Good question...I think we did a pretty good job of scouting which pitchers had what all pitch types as the default. The main thing we wanted to avoid was the ability to create an unhittable pitch. Randy Johnson is ASB'03 threw so fast you had to swing before you even saw the pitch; we didn't want to repeat that scenario. The ASB team loved playing head-to-head games (a lot of 4 player games, actually). We felt the default pitches felt about right.

I haven't played the ASB game in a while now, but I plan to go back to it.
With it being 360 compatible now, I'm sure that I'll be playing it on and off for years to come... considering that it seems like the current game on the market is still years from being as good as ASB was.

Jim--I don't have mine hooked up to my computer. I take my DSL wire and plug it in to the back of the 360. That hooks it up to live. I am not technically savvy enough to hook it up to the computer. I am sure someone on here can figure it out though.
