Varsity High School Football Video Game in Development - Here's What We Know So Far

Some of you may already be aware that Spear Interactive and Pyramid Lake Games are in very early development on a high school football game called Varsity High School Football. Way to early for them to share any visuals yet. If you're interested, join the Discord. It's linked in the description of the video. The developers are looking for feedback, what we want as a gaming community. It's also been cool to hear them talk about their time working on Maximum Football. A lot of people weren't into that series, but the guys making it are legit sim football guys wanting to put out a quality game. I personally keep my expectations very low when it comes to indie game development. It's pretty tough to even get an indie game to launch, much less be polished and a good game. That being said, I'm always hopeful. It's clear to most of us that EA Sports abandoned sim football, franchise/dynasty players a very long time ago.

They're planning on having it be fully customizable, but with some manner of easy to use community share feature, not having to mod game files like CFBR.

I've already spoken to Spear on Discord and there's a possibility I'll be able to partner with them to show some exclusive content as the game progresses.

I'm here too! Thanks for starting a thread. We've been very deep into development and are purposely laying low on marketing until we have more to show everybody. With that said, we've accomplished a lot since February. We are a team of 7 at the moment and all aspects of the game are being worked on. Lots of gameplay, stadium art, and player generation this month.

We are an open book and happen to answer any questions you guys have.

Don't have an ETA on a release date but we are hoping to have a beta/early access out end of next year.

Awesome! I thought you were here! OS is kinda the spot. Anyone interested should join the Discord server. These guys are talking about implementing all kinds of awesome little details!

This has been a dream of mine for years. Spear, check out my blog around and it and feel free to PM me if you want any ideas I've had around this. I'm happy to share just because I think this is great idea for a game and long over due!
