Re: Ricky Williams signs with Toronto

I'm watching the press conference right now and when Williams walked in he looked high.

He's going to wear 27.

This is weird.

I've never seen a pro bowl caliber player leave the NFL in his prime to play in the CFL (well of course he didn't really leave but got suspened for the whole year).

That whole press conference was odd. I am intrigued to see how much success Williams can have in the CFL.

This should be very interesting. As for ricky being high...let's not start speculating on that ALREADY. I think this'll be a good fit for Ricky overall just because of the Pinball factor.

All eye's will be on Toronto this season, anyways some extra interest may be brought to the CFL.

Who knows, you might see some highlights of Argo games on Sportscenter and NFL Total Acess.

Re: Ricky Williams signs with Toronto

I wonder if the CFL has had talks with the NFL about showing CFL games on the NFL Network. The NFL Network will be showing College Games this season so it's not just about the NFL.

I read an article earlier today saying how Flutie and Roger Clemens didn't sell tickets in Toronto, so why would Ricky Williams be any different?

The backfield for the Argos is really crowded now with Williams, Avery, and Johnson. You usually have a Canadian at the FB position for ratio purposes and now they have 3 Americans.

If I was the Argos, I would line up Avery and Williams at the same time. It will be interesting to see how Williams does in the wider field and smaller players. He should be able to run over defenders like what Sean Millington did with the Lions. I know the Argos aren't going to pay him $240,000 only to give him 15 touches a game.

This signing should make the Argos the favorite in the East.
