Why do Madden/NCAA not have the same features all the time?

Ok, I get they're different dev teams. They both work for EA. They're both rolling out locomotion this year. NCAA has a version of pro tak. They obviously need to tune the games differently, especially with speed , etc. to reflect the way college vs. pro plays out. But if NCAA has these new tuning files, why on earth wouldn't madden? The games don't play differently enough for me to say , hmm, ok...they're different games. They're different titles , but not 100 % different games.

Some things are surely easier to collaborate on than others, it's likely a lot more difficult than 'here's some code for xyz feature, enjoy!'

Some features like Locomotion are a lot of work and probably were a joint effort from the beginning.

Then I'm saying all features should be joint efforts. That's my point. If it's good put them in both games, because as EA , when you don't , you end up w/2 games competing with each other instead of augmenting each other.

They are competing with each other anyways, and an internal competition between the two titles development teams is probably good for them too.

Why no multiple camera angles in NCAA?

Why no custom soundtracks in Madden?

I can go on....but...this is sad.

That's what made NFL 2k5 so indearing, whatever they could think of at the time that could go into a football game...they put it in.

+1 They are competing with each other.

If they were both exactly the same, then what would be the point of owning both titles? Yes, some would still buy both games, but that isnt the majority. There needs to be separation somewhat to give both games apeal and make people want to play/buy both.

It does suck though that they cant take the best of both worlds, but what are yah gunna do yah know, thats life.
