Core Charge...

Alot has been made this year of ESPN's price drop and Madden's essential 'sameness' from year to year. Throughout the course of many conversations many people have said $50 is too much for the annually released sports games. I have to say I agree. So, why not give regular customers a 'core charge'. Like when you buy a battery, starter, or alternator for your car. If you bring in last years copy of the game you get an additional $5-$10 more in trade over just the normal trade. Anyone else think this is a good idea?

Re: Core Charge...

Game stores do this all the time.

They can't make it blanket across the board though because some stores that sell the game, don't take trade ins.

Re: Core Charge...

I know to some extent it is done. Like at Gamestop this year if you traded in NCAA 2004 you'd receive a $10 credit toward NCAA 2005.

My suggestion was geared more to the distributers/manufacturers. Maybe give more like a $15-$20 discount for exchanging last year's title. Almost like recycling bottles or cans.

I don't know. Maybe it was just a stupid thought...

Re: Core Charge...

Do you recieve the credit on top of the cash you get for selling the game? If you sell the game on Ebay, you'll get much more money for it, which you can spend on any game.
