Reds Swoop for Barcelona Youngster



Liverpool today completed the transfer of young winger Cristian Tello from Barcelona. The fee is rumored to be in the ballpark of $5.7 million.

"Tello was a player that we have targeted for a while" stated Rodgers. Tello was deemed to be surplus at Barca. "When we heard he was on the market, I jumped at the opportunity. I hope he is a Red for a long time."

"When Liverpool calls, you do not say no" Tello said. "I am very excited and hope to contribute right away."

Tello will be issued Kit number 10

Transfer Window Closes

What started with a bang for Liverpool Football Club ended with a whimper. The big news of the window was the sale of longtime GK Pepe Reina to Napoli and the signing of GK Rui Patricio.

Liverpool also secured the signing of promising youngster Cristian Tello from Barcelona. Brendan Rodgers said, "We weren't completely finished, we just ran out of time. We will probably be somewhat busy in the January window."

Liverpool also loaned out a couple youngsters who will benefit from increased playing time.
