Re: Franch1se: NXT-Universe

Opening Pyro completes and AJ Styles theme starts the show and we see our champion head down to the ring.
AJ: Last week, Samoa Joe warned me to watch my back. Now Joe, we've known each other for a very long time now, and you know I don't back down from any challenge. You also owe it to me to do things right, and to come say it to my face. If you...
Samoa Joe's music hits and he heads down to the ring.
SJ:
AJ, I meant every word about what I said last week. But know this...everything is strictly for that belt hanging over your shoulder. You know I respect you and all of your talent. All i want, is that belt, which I have never gotten a shot at yet.

Samoa Joe extends his hand out to the champ and AJ and Joe shake hands. AJ nods his head in a sign of approval and turns away to head out of the ring. Just then, Samoa Joe grabs the back of his hair and slams him to the ground! Joe picks up styles and hits a series of Chimera Plexes. Joe then picks up Styles and hits the Muscle Buster! Joe gets ready to apply the Coquina Clutch when Sting runs down and makes the attempted save. Sting yells at Joe, "What are you doing??" Joe then headbutts Sting and locks in the Coquina Clutch until the superstars from the back and referees have to separate and pull Joe away.

William Regal announces Samoa Joe vs Sting next week.

Match 1: Adrian Neville vs Rob Van Dam
Our opening contest is a match that showcased current and past superstars alike. A very fast paced match, which showed off some high flying aerial offense from Neville, and much of the same, albeit it a lot slower from RVD really brought the crowd to their feet. Chants of "You still got it" filled the NXT arena for the former Mr. Monday Night. RVD does his signature taunt and Neville attempts a roll up for a count of 2. Neville goes up top for the Red Arrow but RVD gets his knees up. RVD climbs to the top....5 STAR FROG SPLASH! 1....2.....3!
Winner: Rob Van Dam

Match 2: Blake & Murphy vs The Vaudevillians
Blake starts the match off vs Simon Gotch. As expected, the Vaudevillians displayed precise technical wrestling abilities throughout the match that really get under the skin of Blake & Murphy. After an Alexa Bliss distraction, Blake rolled up Aiden English for the victory.
Winner: Blake & Murphy

Match 3: AJ Lee vs Eva Marie
You couldn't ask for a worse situation for the Red-Headed Diva. The classic fan hatred, paired with the return match for one of its most popular Divas, AJ Lee. "Let's Light it Up" hits and out comes the skipping happy diva with the pop of the night, followed by Eva Marie, who had the nights biggest heat. In a very quick squash match, AJ Lee hit the shining wizard for the victory. After the match, Asuka's music hit and stared down AJ from the ramp. Asuka then clapped for the victorious Lee and then skipped off stage mocking AJ.
Winner: AJ Lee

Match 4: American Alpha (NXT Tag Team Champs) vs The Ascension
Our second tag team match of the night showed off our current Champions of American Alpha take on Konnor and Viktor of The Ascension. At this point, we can no longer be impressed with anything that Chad Gable does. Gable continues to impress every chance he gets in the ring. The Ascension begin to get a little offense in, but Jason Jordan comes in and the powerhouse of the group cleans house and eventually picks up the victory the our Tag Team champs.
Winner: American Alpha

Match 5: Alberto Del Rio vs Hideo Itami
This match showed our second surprise return as Alberto Del Rio has arrived on NXT! His return however went disappointing as Hideo Itami eventually picked up the victory after hitting the GTS on Del Rio. After the match, Del Rio could not control his rage and temper as he attacked Itami in his celebration with vicious chair shots to the arm. With Itami withering in pain, Del Rio locked in the arm bar to the screaming Itami. Jushin Thunder Liger came to make the save. William Regal announced Alberto Del Rio vs Jushin Thunder Liger for next week.
Winner: Hideo Itami

Match 6: AJ Styles (NXT Champion) vs Rhyno
In our Main Event, we got to see our champion AJ Styles take on ECW Original Rhyno. This match was much closer than expected, and the powerhouse Rhyno got several close near falls and even hit his signature finishing move The Gore on Styles. Once Styles got rolling however, he was very hard to stop. Styles hit multiple kicks, enzigures and Pele kicks which grounded the Man Beast Rhyno. Styles heads to the outside apron and hit the Phenomenal Forearm, followed by The Styles clash for the victory.
Winner: AJ Styles

AJ actually showed up last week after the Banks/Asuka title match. What do you think of the new write-up format of just talking about the matches and then posting the pictures at the end?

Ah okay, but first match.

As far as pictures it doesnt really matter to me.

Kind of nice having them in spoilers but also nice to see them when the match takes place. They both have their positives and negatives.

Re: Franch1se: NXT-Universe

NXT RE-CAP

Match 1: Tyler Breeze vs Apollo Crews

Prince Pretty returns to NXT and complains about being mistreated on the “Main Roster”. Breeze goes on to state his importance to the NXT brand. Breeze gets interrupted by Apollo Crews, who the crowd is still in limbo with regarding to cheer or boo. Crews and Breeze exchange attacks early on with Crews power eventually being too much for Breeze to handle. Crews hits the Gorilla Press, followed by a Standing Moonsault to pick up the victory.

Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady w/ Carmella make their way to ringside, doing their usual schtick on the mic.

EA: We are, the best tag team in N-X-T. It’s a shame that we don’t have the those tag team belts around our waist. Listen here Jordan….Gable….when you get the balls to defend the titles against the most dominate team in N-X-T….you know where to find us…

THE DUDLEYZ!!! What are Bubba Ray and Devon doing on NXT!

BR: You wan’t to talk about dominance? We have been dominating the tag team division, in ever decade, era, and promotion we are in. If you wan’t a challenge, you HAVE ONE!

Match 2: Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady vs The Dudley Boyz

As much as the NXT Universe loves Enzo and Cass, the crowd was more excited and marking out at seeing the Dudley Boyz return to a WWE Ring, let alone NXT. The Dudleyz came out in full force and obviously caught Enzo and Cass off-guard giving them zero time to prepare for arguably the greatest tag team in wrestling history. Dudleyz hit the double flapjack on Enzo, followed up by the “Wassssssup”. Enzo gets thrown off the ropes and gets finished off by the Dudley Death Drop (3D). Bubba Ray & Devon look better than ever in their return to the WWE and have submitted themselves firmly in the NXT Tag Team title race. American Alpha now have another dangerous tag team to fear.

Match 3: Asuka (NXT Womens champion) vs Carmella

Asuka thoroughly dominated this match as expected. Asuka had the Asuka lock in firmly until “Lets Light it UP” begins being blasted over the speakers. Asuka released the hold and stared as AJ Lee skipped down to the ring and circled the ring never taking her eyes and smile off Asuka. Carmella pulled off the upset victory as she rolled up Asuka for the 3! Asuka was very frustrated and upset in herself as she allowed herself to be fooled and tricked by AJ.

Match 4: Alberto Del Rio vs Jushin Thunder Liger

This match did not last very long as Del Rio escaped to the outside and began viciously attacking Liger with a steel chair. Del Rio delivered chair shot after chair shot to the arm and eventually locked in the arm bar. Itami ran down to make the save and kicked Del Rio out of the ring. The rivalry continues to develop. Although this was a DQ loss for Del Rio by results of his actions, El Patron is now 0-2 sine returning to WWE.

Match 5: Samoa Joe vs Sting

Joe made his way down to the ring to a loud chorus of boo’s. Joe doesn’t seem to care and dominated the much older Sting from the opening bell. You can tell Joe is very focused and his eyes on the prize of AJ Styles NXT Championship belt. The turning point of the match was a counter from Joe when Sting had a quick glimmer of hope and attempted a Stinger Splash. Joe caught Sting and threw him down with a ST. Joe’s side slam. He throws Sting into the corner and hits a standing enizguri, followed by a Chimera Plex. Joe then finishes Sting off with a Muscle Buster for the 3 count. Joe heads outside and grabs a chair. Joe grabbed the mic after the match warning AJ again to watch his back. Styles appears on the titantron and challenges Joe to a match next week on NXT.

Match 6: Daniel Bryan vs Finn Balor

This dream match fully lived up to everyones expectations. In a match that lasted nearly 30 minutes, it saw everything from multiple close finishes, to counters, reversals and plant of “This is Wrestling” and “This is Awesome chants”. Balor had Bryan set up near the corner and hit a running drop kick launching Bryan into the corner, followed by a buckle power bomb. Balor went up top and hit the Coupe-de-grace but Bryan kicked out at 2! Balor is shocked and couldn’t believe his eyes. He asked the ref if he was sure, who was rolled up for a 2 count from behind by Bryan. Balor goes for a kick which is ducked by Bryan who hits a series of kicks. Bryan loads up for a final head kick, which is ducked by Balor who hits Bryan with the Bloody Sunday for ANOTHER count of 2! Balor climbs up top and hits a SECOND Coupe de Grace but Bryan rolls out of the ring. Finn is infuriated at this time and is visibly shaken kicking the ropes and shaking his head in frustration. Bryan sneaks in unbeknownst to Balor, Finn turns around and Bryan hits a running knee! 1….2….KICK OUT. Now Bryan is upset. Finn goes for a punch which was caught and countered by Bryan into the Yes Lock!! Finn taps!!! And Bryan survives Balor.

After the match we see a video playing...unfamiliar music and the crowd does not know what to think. We see a timer....we see a message appear, "2 weeks until I Takeover

Re: Franch1se: NXT-Universe

Another great show.

Dudleyz in NXT should be interesting.

Interested to see who takes over.
