If they can Doc - I'm surprised it hasn't yet, TBH - who else would you want for the job other than Cassell?

Official HQ of Bills Backer/Spurs Nation
It depends on if Harden stays or not. If he stays, I know Morey will listen to what Harden suggests. If not, then I'm open. I'm not really a big name chaser, but at the same time, I would want someone who commands respect from the whole lockerroom. I wouldn't mind Monty Wiliams, especially since he was an assistant here in the Process Years..

Main reason I say Sam is that it seems like he gets respect from the lockerroom, not afraid to get after guys, and I feel he would bring a tougher culture than Doc. But, I'm not opposed to an up and coming assistant coach.

This team needs more discipline and creativity. One thing I definitely don't want to see is offense where everyone is standing still and watching Isos all game. Any one who watched the Sixers play know they just stand around all game, which makes its easier to defend

Without a doubt it's Ayton

The name I've seen thrown around is Chris Quinn. I think he'd be a steal for any team. He's been floating around for a while under Spo.

I'd love to see Kenny Atkinson get the Bucks job. But he'd probably be better with a developing team instead of a team that's so established.

I truly don't understand how Sam Cassell hasn't got the call yet.

I think what hurts Cassell is being attached to Doc last several years. It feels likes Doc's teams always end with disappointing finishes that leaves a bad impression.

Besides Lue, who's the most recent Doc assistant that became a HC?

I wouldn't mind anyone from the Spo tree

Thibbs? That's as far back as I can remember before Lue. That night be too far back.

There was another Spo assistant. I can't remember his name. He wears glasses. He had a quick stop on a team. Remember players were upset with his firing.

Thibbs is the only other one I can remember. Doc doesn't isn't really known for having a coaching tree. But, I don't think being under Doc is helping Cassell. Cassell's in a position where he either has to go somewhere else or be a interim head coach when the main guy gets fired

There's already reports that Harden won't want to stay if Doc stays. I rather it be a package departure, not one or the other lol

David Fizdale.

Memphis he was doing good. Forgot why he got fired. Got to NY and it was downhill from there and I haven’t heard from him since

Re: 2023 Offseason Thread

'BREAKING: The 76ers dismissed coach Doc Rivers on Tuesday, sources tell ESPN. Rivers led the Sixers to the Eastern Conference Semifinals in each of his three seasons on the job.'
The Sixers’ search for a new coach is expected to include Mike Budenholzer, Sam Cassell,*Mike D’Antoni, Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel and Monty Williams, sources tell ESPN."

Hope they give Sam Cassell a fair chance
