He wants to be there but the issue as it always is, is that they disagree on how much he should be paid.

Article from The Athletic says they were exchanging offers/counter-offers a few months back but it’s been quiet since.

From that article: “The Warriors have not yet presented an offer that has blown Myers away, but there’s also a growing sense that even a competitive market offer — near the top of the executive food chain — may not keep Myers with the franchise that he joined in April 2011 as an assistant general manager before his promotion to GM in April 2012.

Myers — the architect of four NBA championships over the past nine seasons — has received significant interest for lucrative positions with private equity funds and roles within other pro sports leagues, sources added. There’s a possibility that Myers could work in media after his contract expires in June. He dipped his toes into the podcast world this past year.”

          Same article:

The Golden State Warriors and president of basketball operations Bob Myers have had no substantial contract extension talks in months and the sides are bracing for the likelihood that Myers could walk away from the franchise, league sources told The Athletic. His contract is up on June 30.

Both sides exchanged offers and counter-offers several months ago, and there has since been no traction on a new deal, league sources say. The Warriors have not yet presented an offer that has blown Myers away, but there’s also a growing sense that even a competitive market offer — near the top of the executive food chain — may not keep Myers with the franchise.

I do think the Sixers are stuck between a rock and a Hard(en) place(dad joke lol). Harden has all the leverage. It's almost similar to Tobias contract situation after Jimmy left. They would have had to let Tobias leave for nothing or give him the deal he wanted. This is a similar situation. Morey himself said yesterday that he suggested to ownership that he thought firing Doc was the right move to make. I don't really want to see D'Antoni. That would feel like a move to appease Harden. Even though, there are reports that MDA was the guy for the Sixers before Doc got fired by the Clippers and Embiid was okay with that. But MDA is 72 now, so at best you're talking a 3-4 year stint. I don't want to see Harden with a bigger role. He kept bringing up that he's made a sacrifice with his game. I don't want to see Harden dribbling for 20 secs again. I think the cap savings for Harden leaving might just be $9M.

More reports that they don't expect the candidate list to grow. Listening to Morey's presser, it seems like he prefers an experienced coach, so I can almost eliminate Cassell. So out of the remaining guys, I'm leaning towards Williams. I would say Nurse, but I can see him not gelling with guys

There’s been smoke on this for at least a year but obviously it’s intensified as we got closer to the offseason.

I saw that. Its been a consistent rumor since Christmas. So where's the smoke, there has to be fire. I wouldn't be upset lol. We all know what type of player he is when it really matters. I've said, I rather lose him for nothing, than to committ for 4 years to him. Best case scenario would be to do a S&T and create a huge trade exception.

The key would be to see if Rockets trade that #4 pick. I could see them packaging that pick with guys like KPJ to get a win-now player. They'll have $60M in space. They could sign Harden and use that extra space and the #4 pick to get another max spot in . Might have to part with someone like Eason or Sengun though.

Bring back King Harden, go back to the good old days ("who's the man? You da man!"), with a bunch of young players in the locker room. Sweet.

They’d be moving the young players more than likely if he goes back.

Don't think it's all that bad for them. They've done nothing to address their hole at PG/playmaker. They have no vets on the team. I think they would try to keep Green, Smith, Sengun with Porter, KMJ, Tate, Eason would all be expendable with the pick(s) to improve their roster.

Not blown away by whoever they could draft at 4 anyways, especially not with Green and Smith already on the roster. Obvious trade target to me is getting Jaylen Brown to come play for Udoka again. After that I could see them targeting Middleton, Siakam, or getting in the mix of teams maybe trying to get Wiggins/Poole. I could also see them targeting guys like Jerami Grant in free agency, or in the mix with ATL trading for Collins and Capela.

I can definitely see Siakam being a trade option. I don't know if he's worth the #4 pick. None of the Houston young guys are untouchable. Even Green, if someone is willing to trade you a quality #2 type of player, you'll have to consider trading Green. The only way I see Jaylen Brown is if Boston fizzle fizzles out.

As for the Sixers, I would want to see how Maxey progresses. I can see him improving to a 25+ppg scorer next year if he's the #2 scorer. Then trade Tobias in a 3-team deal and get 2-3 good rotational players

Harden. Kyrie. It never ends. Teams can say no, you know. I guess they can't.

At least getting harden and trading the 4th pick for a veteran would be picking a direction. They have been stuck in the mud doing nothing for a few years now.

Rumors still circulating about Simons + 3rd for a SF.

I just wonder if Raptors do revisit the OG deal, what it would fully look like.
