Think about how hyped LeBron was though. He was literally the most hyped high school athlete of all time, and somehow he has SURPASSED the hype. Dude is by far the best player in the league IMO and will end up as the best of all time. But anyway, I don't wanna get into a debate I just think the commercial is so awesome.

If you don't wanna start a debate, then why do you feel the need to spit your opinion on him? Stop being so hypocritical. Anyway since you started it. He has NOT surpassed the hype yet, I'd say he is pretty much, living up to the hype. The day he wins a ring is the day we can say he has fulfilled the hype or even surpassed it. But, to my knowledge he still has no ring. He got close by carrying his team to the finals but, close only counts in horseshoes & hand grenades.

That commercial is pretty awesome tho, that was back when I used to despise LeBron. Hearing his name everywhere & him being so hyped up when he was playing against kids half his size & had half his athleticism, just got me to the point where I was sick of hearing his name. But, I can honestly say I am a fan of LeBron now. He'll get to the top, just hold off on the anointing ceremonies for now, he hasn't reached the peak yet.

He has been competing for the best player since being a rookie.

IMO the hype got fulfilled

A ring wont mean hes "surpassed" the hype. It would just mean the GM of the Cavs did his job and assembled a team that compliments his skills and they won a ring together with him leading.

He is obviously a great player. and the hype was that he will be a great player.
