Unusual for a Cavs fan after the last few years to be looking forward to draft night. And truth be told I have no idea what I want. We need good big men but I don’t think you get that with the 8th pick. We also lack decent guards. We basically need everything that isn’t a 3 or 4, and even the 3 might need filling up soon.

It'd probably have less of an impact in NBA than all other sports, but is there a reason we haven't seen a snake draft in any of these major leagues?

It won't prevent NBA tanking, but perhaps it could in other sports. And in the case of the NBA, the worst team won't just have their chance to basically draft multiple 1st round players(since there's always guys who fall out of the 1st round in all drafts). And teams making playoff pushes, their 2nd round pick becomes more valuable when trying to deal at the trade deadline.

I'm just here to see how GarPax embarrasses us this time.

Lauri was a good pick so far right? I mean they are due for like one or two good moves a decade right?

As a Hawks fan I just want to come away with a blue chip prospect in Doncic or Bagley. Let's get something to build around and go from there.

Yeah they did well with Lauri, I mean, they could have had Donovan Mitchell or Kyle Kuzma and passed on them, but I can’t knock the Lauri pick really. But they immediately killed the goodwill of that decision by trading their next damn draft pick for cash for a franchise that’d go for 2.5 billion easily if it sold tomorrow. I’m just concerned with the very likely reality of sustained mediocrity AGAIN for this team.

As good as Lauri has been so far he isn’t a 1. If we ever win a title again in my lifetime, it won’t be with Lauri as the best player on the team. Bringing me Wendell Carter to THIS team tonight does nothing for me but confirm a bunch of pointless basketball in Chicago for the foreseeable future. That’s an average team looking at just missing the playoffs or a 5-8 seed first or second round exit every year waiting to happen and I just don’t have the patience for it any more.

To be fair, a lot of teams are kicking themselves for not taking Mitchell or Kuz
