***Official PES 2011 Full Game Impressions (PS3/360)***

Got the game yesterday

the game as a whole got better than the demo imo.

impressions:

Changes from the demo:

1) Less fouls which is good better flow to the game...I play 20 min halves so i get around 5-8 fouls a game per team...not bad at all. The average soccer game averages around 15-20 fouls per team in a game. So if you play 20 mins you want to see 6-9 fouls per team in the game. If you get more than that, you will hinder the gameflow. Another thing which I hated from the demo was that not only there were too many fouls, but 80 percent of the fouls were committed by the cpu.

2) The big thing is, the CPU can actually outposess you!

Played 4 games:

Inter ( me) vs Juventus: it was 50/50 exactly , tie game 1-1

Holland (me) vs Algeria: posession was 51/49 for me, outshot them 16- 7 but still LOST 0-1 as they went into a defernsive shell the last 20 mins.

Holland ( me) vs England : posession 55/45 for the CPU and they killed me 4-1

Milan Vs Ajax : 53/47 posession for me and won 2-0

I don't know what happened, but the cpu is better at controlling the ball in retail version and feels more dangerous in general. a very good thing.....

3) Shots are less floaty and more dangerous, i scored a long range shot from Pirlo from around 30 yards out and in one game I played till halftime, PUYOL of all people scored from outside the box.

4) CPU ai and team ai movement is really good and in general, team AI in PES helps you out more than FIFA 11. AI intelligence is this game's strong point.

5) I didn't like how standing tackle feels less responsive, maybe ill get used to it but thats a small negative.

6) Animations, graphics, ambiance, sound are several notches below FIFA.

sounds really good. I was reading about people saying that the demos of the pc and console versions were better. Can't wait to get this one.

Thanks, that should mean I should get mine later today.

Is there a difficulty after Top Player? I remember reading Seabass saying that the difficulty from WE 2010 was going to be added in PES 2011.

nah it's not in, but some PES official guy in another PES message board said top player PES 2011= WE 2010 superstar level or something like that.

Maybe it's an unlockable , ill have to check for you later

Re: ***Official PES 2011 Full Game Impressions (PS3/360)***

Good impressions Philly. I always argue about fouls, because I believe it is an integral part of the sport like it or not. It is a very subjective topic which could easily be solved by a slider, but I guess footy game developers don't believe in customer friendly customization. They would be wise to look at a certain NBA game that just rolled out.

Anyways, I believe the longest half amount is 20 min (without PC mods). I don't think (IMO of course) you can compare that to a full 45 min half (90 min match) and say fouls would equate correctly because the game doesn't allow the option to play that long. Fouls in a 20 min half (40 min match) should get you numbers that are on pace with a full 90 min real life match.

To me 6-9 just isn't enough, especially knowing that is an average and some matches will end with 3 or 4 fouls a piece which is too low for that amount of time. 6-9 per team should be an absolute low end mark at all times when playing a 20 min match. Some matches at that length should get up in the higher teens which I would never argue with. For league matches, this should be a given. Usually in competitions like CL and Europa, fouls are a little lower for the most part, probably due to the teams not knowing each other as well.

For me a big issue lies with fouls in the opponent side of the pitch. The CPU gets away with murder here and in the other game. To be fair, the user does too at times, but this area is where fouls need to be called on both sides and where the game's AI needs to be smarter. Do I attempt a tackle or to bump the man off the ball knowing a foul will and should be called in a dangerous area? Or do I back off, and perhaps give up a scoring opportunity. How about how in the box the defense always gets the benefit of the doubt on 50-50 balls or runs in my an attacker where the attacker usually uses his hands to try to get by. Another area where fouls are not called in these footy games.

Rambling now, but enjoy reading your opinions on games. Just wanted to banter a bit with you.

Yeah i agree about the game graphically. Graphically sponsorships and adboards etc are better than Fifa but overall the game has not much in thr wow factor that fifa 11 HAS.
