I'll definitely be giving these a go. One question though, did you make any other tweaks to limit the computer long ball / through ball spamming or is that video a result of the previous tweaks you made? (deeper/congested formations and FB tracking)

Cheers bud
Thanks, man. Yes in that most recent video I did the following:

Adv Instruction > Attack > Defensive > selected Striker/CF

I'm also trying to see if the Attack > False 9 can do the same thing. I'd hate to have to assign this and then it get released because the forward isn't selected for first team or something.

LIke I said above though, still working on user side adjustments, making sure I've covered all the different combinations possible.

I don't know how it is in 18, but last year the cpu team would not use the "advanced instruction" you changed yourself in the edit section. They seemed to be hard coded for every team. But may be with the second controller technique they might stick to what you give them.

I hear this a lot, but it doesn't explain how they stuck with the change regardless of what feedback/display presented. You can see the forwards drop back versus run on their streaking runs instead.

I wouldn't put it past KONAMI that they hardcode many things. Notice how all FB's overlap or are practically SMF's in this game?

Well, in the OP videos the difference is pretty striking. But your did your tutorial right before playing your game, changing with the controller the team you wanted to edit. My point is, if you assign the advanced instruction in the edit section of the game, they might not be saved. Meaning that you would have to do it for every team all over again before starting the game which is totally fine. The only video where we see glimpse of wether the cpu uses adv instruction or not is your longest one about moving players down on the team sheet. In that video I don't know if you assigned any adv instruction to Man U but they start the game without any adv instr.

Also, working on the long ball spam...think it's getting there...check it out:

This is one of the most realistic games I have ever seen. Well done!
Is this PS4 or PC?
What strategy did you use to have the midfield so compact?

I also love the camera angle. Which camera angle do you play on?

The curl you get on passes it's unbelievable - do you apply curl every time you pass / cross?

This was on PC, but I've also tried it with PS4.

Here is the video in which I show what I've done. The only additional thing from the other video was Adv Instruction > Attack > Defensive > selected Striker/CF

Video below did not use any adv instructions:

I think PES starts with way too much space from the get go. So I reduced it to the "limits" of their player roles. Basically Edit the lineup/position to the point the player role changes, but still maintaining the base positioning.

Hi Matt

Been a follower of yours for a while so hope you can nail this.

Quick question presume you are testing on exhibition mode which definitely plays better than ml or any of the competitions.

Think the majority will play ml so can you test on there aswell

Yes, I test in ML and League mode as well. I spend limited time in exhibition just to see if the instructions/modifications are worth adjusting in edit mode.
