It's supposedly going to be a beautiful day. Good football weather.

Re: Week 1: Buffalo Bills (0-0) @ Chicago Bears (0-0)

The Bears have looked shaky defensively to say the least this preseason while the Bills have looked pretty bad offensively. One of these things will change come Week 1. I'm hoping that EJ Manuel and Co. can get the offense going and playing Chicago might be the tonic they need. Defensively I think the Bills will come out aggressive and put a lot of pressure on Cutler but since the secondary is not exactly a strong suit I can see Cutler getting the ball to the wideouts if he's given just enough protection from his O-Line.

This is a toss up game IMO so as a homer I give Buffalo the slightest edge.

The Bears should win this comfortably. If they don't, I have no faith in the season.

I wish I had the confidence you do, but the Bears' defense still bothers me. I think this will be a fairly close one.

I don't mean a blowout or anything. I mean up by a couple scores most of the game. In a home opener against a team like the Bills, that should be our minimum expectation. If not, it's going to be a long season.

I think the Bills will be able to pressure Cutler and make this game close. The defense will ultimately bear most of the load given the offense looks like it couldn't score even if there was nobody defending them.

Bills lose, but it will be close due to our defense.
