    2017 Transaction Thread

Season is officially over so might as well get this started. Some notable moves made today:

    Packers release RB James Starks.

Browns release CB Tramon Williams and QB Josh McCown.

Packers have released CB Sam Shields, who missed all but one game due to suffering a concussion in Week 1.

Those 2 releases have the Packers projected to have 43 million in cap space.

C'mon TT. Heh, who am I fooling.

Haha right... It's so damn disappointing that we're gonna waste the remaining years of our HOF QB.

He did win a playoff game for us already.

              Some roster news:

Dolphins will release LT Branden Albert. DT Earl Mitchell, DE Mario Williams and CB Ifo Ekpre-Olumu.

Per Ed Werder of ESPN, Cowboys' QB Tony Romo is expecting to get released and not traded.

Texans are unlikely to use Franchise Tag CB AJ Bouye, allowing him to hit UFA.

Am i missing something? Is there a benefit to releasing Romo over a trade?

Cowboys way of thanking Romo for his time spent in Dallas. Rather than the alternative of trading Romo so where he might not want to spend the next 2-3 years. End the relationship as healthy as possible by doing right by Romo.

His health uncertainty and cap hit make a trade pretty unrealistic. Im assuming they've already asked around and know it's not likely to happen.

Mario Williams? Damn, I forgot all about him this season. How did he and Suh not wreck havoc for the Dolphins?!

Anyway, he can stay in state and shine with Tampa opposite The Prodigy Noah Spence.

Dunno if Mario still has it. This is another bad year, and the talk of needing to work harder came up again from now-Broncos HC Vance Joseph after that stuff being part of the reason he was cut by Buffalo last year.

Right place, right price could be a bargain.

I could see Bill taking a flyer on him if we can't resign Chris Long. We don't need him to be an every down player. If he can be a 20 play or so player for us with full effort, he could be disruptive in the pass rush.

Julius Thomas is Miami-bound after all.

The Jaguars are trading the veteran tight end to the Dolphins, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, via a source informed of the pending move. Per Rapoport, it's expected that the Jaguars will receive a 2017 seventh-round pick in return.

The trade will not be official until the start of the new league year on March 9.

Thomas was initially discussed as part of a player-for-player trade between the two franchises, with veteran tackle Branden Albert heading to Jacksonville.

The sides are still finalizing the Albert deal. When all is said and done, the two separate trades will result in Thomas and a late-round draft pick going to Miami in exchange for Albert and another late-round pick.

The Jacksonville Jaguars' offseason remake is in full-swing.

The Jags notified Jared Odrick on Monday he will be released, the defensive lineman's agent, David Canter, announced on Twitter. The team confirmed the cut shortly after.
