Viking! ESPN and NFL Network are reporting a trade between the chiefs and the vikes. KC will get the 17th pick in the first round as well as the 73rd and 82nd picks in the third round.

My only question is the going rate for a top flight DE 3 draft picks these days?

Now if the Vikes can get consistent QB play they'll be a darkhorse and sexy pick to make the playoffs.

As a Vikings fan I am very excited by this trade. This addresses an immediate need for our team and we still have 7 draft picks if we dealt a 1st and a 3rd. Jared Allen, along with the Williams wall should provide for a strong line. Hopefully an increased pass rush without blitzing will help our coverage as well. Now we just need to hope he keeps his nose clean.

This is probably the best DL in football now. Allen and the 2 Williams' is just scary.

What were the Chiefs thinking? A Pro Bowl DL for 3 draft picks?

Talk about a steal. After the Randy Moss trade mess, it's nice to be on the good end of one of these.

Fantastic trade for both Minnesota and Kansas City

Allen coming off the edge with the Williams duo and Robison/James at the other end is a filthy pass-rush. Ray Edwards is developing nicely too. The defense was already filthy, but this makes it better. The O-line and D-line of the Vikings can go toe to toe with any line in the NFL.

KC needs picks to get younger, and now they have a ton of them. Herm has done a good job drafting so far with Tamba Hali and Dwayne Bowe. They'll now have the luxury with getting a DT (Ellis would look nice) with the #5 and then use the #17 on a lineman like Ugoh/Clady (whichever one falls).
