why are home teams wearing their away jersey?

almost every game in week 1 had the home team wear their away jersey (including the throwback ones). i noticed this last week as well.

does anyone know why this is? i know about the cowboys wearing their white jersey at home, but why is it happening so much so far this season?

I think teams want to wear their white in the warm weather so the road team gets hotter because of the darker colored jerseys. The Sun hitting those dark jerseys makes you sweat more.

You're seeing more and more of this. Football is the only sport where home teams typically don't where their white jersey. It used to only be Dallas, then Washington and Miami started doing it, followed by Philly sometimes.

i dont know why they would want to. the coloured ones look way cooler.

the warm weather reason seems pretty plausible tho.

I think you've got that backwards. In most sports home teams wear their colors. Football, hockey, soccer, rugby, etc. The only one I can think of where that isn't the case is basketball. (And I'm excluding baseball, since there's not much of a difference between the white home uniforms and the gray road unis.)
