Browns coach, Eric Mangini, questions Lions' injuries
Updated: 11/23/2009 4:28:24 PM Posted: 11/23/2009 4:26:21 PM

BEREA-- Browns coach Eric Mangini is questioning whether the Detroit Lions faked injuries to slow down Cleveland's no-huddle offense.

Mangini, who bemoaned the final, chaotic seconds of Cleveland's 38-37 loss Sunday, noted the Lions had several players leave the field injured, only to return. Mangini was asked if he was accusing Lions coach Jim Schwartz, whom he worked with previously in Cleveland, of having his players fake injuries.

"I'm just saying there were a lot of them," Mangini said Monday.

Mangini also feels the officials made an incorrect pass interference call at the end of the game, which gave the Lions an untimed down on the Cleveland 1-yard line. On the extra snap, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford threw his fifth touchdown pass.

What a hypocritical moron the Browns hired.

Oh, Mangini,
Oh don't you cry for me
For I come from Alabama
With my banjo on my knee

That popped into my head when I saw the thread title.

So how long will he have a job? Will he make it until the end of the season?

Too long.

Honestly, I have a feeling he makes it to next year.

Re: Oh Mangini...

Seeing junk like this makes me feel so bad for the Browns, but then again, ownership did it to itself. Dang shame though.

I have no idea why a team goes from one failed Belichick disciple to anothe failed Belichick disciple. Mangini had one good season on the Jets and was a total failure otherwise. I wouldn't have ever hired that buffoon, much less let him single handedly dismantle my roster by trading away my two best offensive weapons.

Re: Oh Mangini...

Look at the bright side, maybe next year Cleveland can land Weis as the OC & Romeo as the DC.

Re: Oh Mangini...

Desperation can be an ugly thing. Probably safe to say his head coaching days are just about at an end. I would love just 1% of the money that will end up being paid by pro teams and colleges for contract buyouts of Belichick assistants. I think I heard it would cost Notre Dame 18 mil to dump Weiss.
