Raiders signed QB J.P. Losman, formerly of the Bills.
Profootballtalk.com had the report first, and it's since been confirmed by the Oakland Tribune. The Colts were also interested in Losman, but the Raiders beat them to the punch. Losman's development under Jim Fassel with the UFL champion Las Vegas Locomotives reportedly ignited Oakland's interest. If Monday's comments are any indication, coach Tom Cable still prefers even a kneeless Bruce Gradkowski to JaMarcus Russell. It wouldn't be a surprise to see Losman in game action as soon as Week 16. I guess EVERYONE gets a 2nd chance in the NFL.

The guy's nothing but hot garbage but he is good at chucking the ball downfield. Maybe the Raiders will go with a bombs away offense LOL

I would rather see Losman or Charlie Frye under center for the remainder of this season and all of next rather than see JaWalrus Russell take another snap in a Raider uniform.

Wait a minute.

How can there be a "UFL star" anything?

So does this mean JaMarcus Russell career as a Raider is over? How many years does he have left on his contract?

Awful move by Losman. Why give up the comfortability of what is the UFL and forsake it to join the RAIDERS? I can understand if a Playoff contender called up needing a backup or something, but he's setting himself up to fail. Then again, I guess he could be thinking this is the best opportunity for him to steal away a starting gig.

Either way, good luck to him he'll need it.

"Star"? LOL

Interesting, this seems as a move to stick it to Indianapolis, for God knows what reason. Indy was supposed to sign him last week and had to sign a tackle due to injuries.
