Draft Snubs

Some of these names are not terribly noteworthy (jevin snead, for example)

But how in the world does a guy with 155 catches and 19TDs as a senior not get drafted at all??!!??

http://collegefootball.rivals.com/co...sp?CID=1078638

The frequency with which "top-end speed" is mentioned is sad...

1) rarely in football does ANYONE run at their top speed.
2) Jerry Rice, Emmit Smith

People put up ridiculous stats in college and are ignored by the pros all the time.

There are too many stat heavy offenses and too many creampuffs for stats to be the sole issue. His yards per catch is abysmal so my guess is that his offense threw a ton of short routes.

Maybe he'll be a star, but the NFL is pretty damn good at drafting players overall, despite what the media says about the few high profile busts and the very, very rare big time player from the the late rounds.

Re: Draft Snubs

The guy with 150 catches played in one of those ridicolous spread offenses were they don't know how to do anything other than pass the ball every play. Over-inflated stats. Back in the day, a WR named Troy Edwards had ridicolous recieving stats in college at Louisiana Tech, and was drafted high by Pittsburgh in the NFL, and became a huge bust. Nobody will take a chance on guys like him anymore.

Re: Draft Snubs

yeah, i know....i figured it went without saying (the spread)

nonetheless, the guy seems to have some of the tools necessary to succeed. that being said, i certainly trust nfl personnel guys more than myself (or rivals.com).

but...is penalizing a player because of a system fully sensible? i can see where some shy away from qbs like harrell...

Re: Draft Snubs

Danario Alexander will be the next Brandon Marshall...if he can pass a physical.

Re: Draft Snubs

Someone who can't be drafted out of 255 picks is hardly a snub.

I doubt he was penalized, I'm sure the scouts didn't see anything that they liked out of him.

I was at that La Tech Nebraska 1998 season opener where Edwards had 21 catches for 406 yards.
