I don’t get it to be honest? The chains have never ever been in question or an issue. The issue has been with the spot of the ball.

Until we start using tech for that we aren’t really improving anything.

It tracks the ball too. From the NFL.com article:

Hawk-Eye, which will be deployed across all 30 NFL stadiums and the international venues hosting NFL games, consists of six 8K cameras for optical tracking of the position of the ball.

They aren’t being used to actually spot the ball though.

The cameras are used to best determine where the ball has already been spotted using the current process in place to determine its location relative to the line to gain.

Yeah, starting at the 35 feels like overcompensating. Makes field goals way too accessible after one decent play. If they want more returns, just incentivize it — don’t break field position logic.

Re: NFL Off Topic

Former LSU receiver and upcoming draft prospect Kyren Lacy was found dead in Houston. Nothing is confirmed but it's believed to be self-inflicted.

If true, he undoubtedly was looking to avoid the consequences he was facing. Tragic story in many ways.

"Lacy was accused of causing a crash that killed a 78-year-old man on Dec. 17 and then fleeing the scene without rendering aid or calling authorities. On Jan. 12, he turned himself in to authorities, was jailed and then released on $151,000 bail, according to police records.

Lafourche (Louisiana) Parish Sheriff's Office records indicated that Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run with death and reckless operation of a vehicle. A grand jury was to begin hearing evidence in the case Monday."
