The ratings don't need to be stretched out anymore than they already are. That isn't the problem; what they need to do is program the game so the ratings actually mean something.

A DE doesn't have to be that good at zone coverage to drop back into a zone blitz. Most DEs in the NFL aren't good at zone coverage. The zone blitz is almost like a trick play on defense in the sense...

Players like Colston & Harvin would be exceptions; Players like that would have ratings that correlate to more than one position. 4-3 defensive ends who are capable of playering OLB in a 3-4 scheme...

Forgot about that; however, they(WRs) don't pass block, so they would only have run blocking strength and footwork.

The whole premise is that the rating system, in my opinion, is too global.

As far as route running is concerned,Madden 10 doesn't diffrentiate WRs from CBs. Pick a team and edit the CBs to WRs and see if you feel a difference.

That's why speed, agility and strength would still be visible. Do coaches have a set numerical number that tells them player A is better than player B ???
