Indeed they aren't, that's right. Doesn't negate the fact that there occur awkward picks like mine with Iwakuma.
And all in all the sim engine of the 2k is waaaay better than that of the Show....

Yes. And nope. WHIP is better than ERA, W, K, ... But FIP, xFIP and SIERA beat WHIP by a large margin. Or do you wanna tell me that Iwakuma with a WHIP of 0.94 is a better pitcher than Adam...

The Show has enough flaws itself. Don't expect too much. IMO the Show is simply hyped as hell but when looking deep into the game you find as many annyoing flaws as in 2k's series.

You can only create strikeout pitchers or strikeout batters for the simulation. I wasn't able to find a way to do something like a bad groundball/sinker pitcher for gameplay.

Because you talked about tendencies.
Tendecy ratings do not affect gameplay. They only take place in simulation.
